Had a fab craft class today, we made a card and a tin............well, we covered the tin and although I like to use my tins for storing my crafty bits and bobs, pens, bone folder, aqua painters etc in you could use it to give a gift in with a pretty piece of fabric and a lovely SU ribbon. Both card and tin had an abstract feel to them. After punching out a few pieces of card using the circle punches we then used it as a template to layer over another piece of card and roll the wheel over. Thereafter moving the template down a bit and drawing the circles. Really effective and just that little bit different. A little faux stitching (far more my kind of stitching really) and we're done!
I find that we so often make a template and then dont use the "bits and bobs" that are left behind so we used up as many of the circles created as possible as accents on both items. Take a look and if you have any questions I'm here to help.
Punches used: Eyelet Border Punch, 1/2" circle punch, 1" circle punch

ReplyDeleteI've seen the 'rolling the wheel into the space left by the punch' technique (!) but I've never seen drawing round it before and it looks fantastic! And you're making me really want that wheel...
